Local Law Enforcement
Approximately fifty cars have been marked with what seems to be human blood in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.
Cars, building surfaces and postal boxes were defaced, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they announced in a official communication.
Law enforcement report they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a resident discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish substance.
The substance had been drawn in the form of a Nazi symbol, they added.
Police then found many other smeared automobiles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.
These symbols are illegal in Germany under laws outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.
Police say early analysis suggest the liquid was probably human blood.
"There is still no lead as to its origin; officials are currently not cognizant of any physical harm in connection with the incident," they stated.
Municipal representatives stated they were working "to solve the mystery" and have asked to the public for tips.
A high-ranking political figure stated the attack left him without words and required to be solved rapidly.
"This event strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the extremist terrorist attack half a decade ago," he wrote on social media, mentioning the killing of nine individuals by a assailant targeting residents of migrant background in February 2020.
