It's tough for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The top summits have long been mastered.

We're talking about the squad that has won seven Cricket World Cups, along with six more T20 titles, and earlier maintained nearly four years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, those for the achievement hunters, are the only things left for a squad that has won it all.

The fact it required until Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase exceeding 300, reclaiming their record for the biggest in the female 50-over format, is, in truth, a tribute to the bowling attack that have represented Australia over the past 50 years.

It is hard for their batters to maintain a record if never given the possibility.

Ultimately, the outcome of Australia allowing 330 runs was leader Alyssa Healy getting a platform to create her newest gem.

Originally famous as the teenage relative of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after Australia didn't secure either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups from the prior year and has seen it all through 15 trophy-laden years since.

A T20 World Cup win arrived three months after her debut and seven world titles have come from 10 attempts across formats.

The gritty keeper was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India temporarily stopped the successful run.

That loss "motivated us to reevaluate our levels," Healy said this week.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the championship match and was named player of the tournament. She ensured her country would not come up short.

Whether this latest epic knock surpassed that earlier display is debatable.

Some will argue the reasoning behind final game tension. Some might respond with the difficulty that comes when facing a record target and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's definite is this hundred was much more difficult to predict.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 happened while she led the batting statistics, but this innings followed six innings in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've been watching me in practice sessions, it was a frustrating experience because it appeared my form was missing completely," commented Healy.

"But once you take the field, your competitive nature take over and you completely engage with the competition."

Healy's competitiveness has consistently been her major advantage - and a priceless quality in succeeding famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, fallen to the emerging pace bowler in all three matches, but this time it merely gave Healy's inspiration.

A single was taken off the opening delivery and from there the batsman was on her way.

"The possibility to play and engage in competition with her and merely enjoy the moment that way, kind of motivated me," stated Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 pitches - her fastest at the global tournament - and her ton in 84 as she attacked short-pitched balls, striking 21 boundaries and three sixes.

By the time she was removed Australia needed 66 additional runs at one run per ball - an achievable target now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"To chase 330 is unfamiliar ground so I'm happy we have the confidence to achieve that now," continued Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it again but, if necessary, we are confident we can succeed."

That comment will be the final thing competing nations at this championship should hear.

During the last week a belief they will triumph from any situation has grown stronger - this triumph coming after success over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite struggling at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a meeting with old rivals England in Indore in ten days, by which point a last-four spot may well be secure.

During that phase they exited last year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a match Healy couldn't play because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the initial instance at an important competition.

So great is her will, she subsequently stated she wished she had played through the pain.

But while she afterwards confessed those fitness problems have delayed thoughts of retirement, this World Cup is expected to be her final tournament as skipper in one-day cricket and she is still to achieve an international tournament as skipper.

Success in India would take her to the summit of her ultimate challenge.
